What monasteries to visit, where are they, are they functioning or abandoned
The monasteries situated in the are of Dilijan are medival.

  • Goshavank Monastery Complex is a functioning monastery, which was built in 12-13th  centuries. It is 22 km from Dilijan, the church is reachable with regular cars.
  • Haghartsin Monastery Complex is a functioning monastery, dates back to 10-13th centuries. It is 13 km from Dilijan, the road is okay, the church is reachable by normal cars.
  • Jukhtakvank is a small, abandoned monastery, which consists of two churches. They date back to 11-12th centuries. It is 7 km from Dilijan. The church is not reachable by car, as part of the road is a dirt road, and the last one km is in the forest.
  • Matosavank is another abandoned monastery which dates back to 13th century. It is 6 km from Dilijan, part of the road is a dirt road and the last 1 km is in the forest, so you will have to walk that part.
  • Aghavnavank is an abandoned monastery, which is situated in Aghavnavank village, dates back to 12-13th centuries. It is 28 km from Dilijan.

Hiking
You should download the app HikeArmenia, filter the region Tavush and you will see all the trails that are here. The app contains a map, navigation, short facts and description about the trails, reviews, guides, etc.  Make sure to press the button “store offline” as soon as you choose the trail, so that you can find the information offline. Take into account that there is no reception in forest, so even if you have internet on your phone, it won’t work on trails.
You can also buy a topographic paper map from Diljan Tourist Information Center for 5000 AMD.
Trails that have viewpoints
Dilijan center to Drunken Forest (a viewpoint to the whole town), Parz Lake to Dilijan, Parz Lake to Goshavank, haghartsin to Hovk Village, Apakeqar trail  Tripeak trail, Jukhtakvank to Haghartsin monastery.
Please note that some of the trails are not well marked and it is recommended to take a guide for them.

Are there wolves, bears, foxes, etc.
There are wild animals, but they usually avoid people, so we have never seen any wild animal on the most visited trails (Dilijan Center via Drunken forest, King of the Forest, etc.). However, you should note, that it is not excluded.
How do we get to the Dilijan National Park, is it open for everyone?
Dilijan National Park is open for everyone. All the surrounding area of Dilijan town and the adjacent villages is part of National Park. It is open, in order to have a nice walk in the National Park, download the app HikeArmenia and choose a trail.

You can buy a topographic map in Dilijan Tourist Information Center.

How do I get to Haghartsin, Goshavank, Parz Lake?
Both Parz Lake (Parz Lich) and Haghartsin are 13 km from the roundabout and you will need a car to get there.
Goshavank is 22 km from Dilijan, you will need a car to get there.
The road to these three directions is in good condition.
Activities to do with kids
You can visit the Red Deer Breeding Centre, which is on the way to Parz Lake. The center is open 24/7. You can also visit Dilijan City Park, where you can rent bikes, electric cars for kids, try one of the courses of Verev Rope Park and watch a short educational movie (in English, Russian, Armenian) in Ditaran.
What activities are there in Dilijan city park?
Dilijan Tourist Information Center is located in Dilijan city park, where you can buy souvenirs, rent bikes, hiking accessories, balls, tennis rackets and balls to play tennis in a mini playground in the park. The playground is not only for tennis, but you can also play basketball, volleyball, football. There is also a rental of electric cars for kids.
  • If you like adventures, there is Verev Rope Park, which has activities for both kids (3+ years old) and adults. Short and educational movies are shown in Ditaran in 3 languages – English, Russian and Armenian.
Is there a horseriding?
Yes, for horseriding write a message to Dilijan-horseriding Instagram or Facebook page, or call +374 77 977 334. It is in Haghartsin village.
Where can I do fishing?
Fishing is allowed in Qari Lich which is situated in Hovk village (22 km from Dilijan)
Where to buy groceries?
There is a small grocery shop next to Café #2 and there are bigger shops in the administrative center of Dilijan. They are located on Google maps, Tsiran supermarket and New City supermarket.

Where to buy souvenirs
There are souvenirs in Dilijan Tourist Information Center. Also there is a small shop called Nrani near the roundabout, and another small one in Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex.

The taxis are coming from Yerevan, so it is important to mention that you are going to take them from Dilijan and, preferably, book a seat one or two days before.
The taxis go 3 times a day, the price is approximately 7000 AMD per person.
The stop in Dilijan is in front of UCOM center.
Dilijan to Yerevan minibuses and other transportation
The minibuses go from 9 am – 4 pm every 2 hours. The price is 1000 AMD, the stop is in front of Café #2 across the street.

There is also a special shuttle that goes from Dilijan to Yerevan. For that you can download the app GG, and find the shuttle there. They are like shared taxis, the price differs from 1400 -2500 AMD depending on a day and time. The last one is usually at 6 pm and costs 1600 AMD. You have to download the app and book beforehand. If you have difficulties with it, feel free to ask us and we will help you. You can also write to their support chat, they answer within minutes.
How to get to Vanadzor, Sevan, Gyumri
There is no special minibus from Dilijan to Sevan, but you can take the ones that go to Yerevan telling the driver beforehand that you are going to Sevan.
You can go from Dilijan to Vanadzor with the minibuses that go from Ijevan to Vanadzor. They go through Dilijan and stop if there is an available seat. They go 3 times a day at approximately 11:25, 15:25, 17:25. The time mostly depends on traffic between Ijevan and Dilijan.
Is there a transportation inside the town?
Yes, there are minibuses that work from 8 am to 6 pm every 30 minutes. On Sunday though they work from 8 am to 6 pm every hour.
Where do we withdraw cash?
The closest bank and ATM is Acba Bank where you can withdraw money 24/7. The bank is located on Google maps, it is within 5 minutes walking distance from our center.
There are a lot of ATMs in the town and all of them are located on Google maps.
